I met her after she chose me for a writing contest on "My Vision of Detroit" Through the Dream Makers scholarship. She is a strong Latina woman that I am proud to say has earned that name. All the great life stories she has encountered in her life & has told me about as well are great examples I love to remember when I am setting goals for my future. I continue to be a roll model to many around me & I just recently in November won the Dream Makers scholarship again 2 years in a row. The best thing about the past 2 years is that I have more and more people around me who can be around who can guide me if i shall need it. Her intelligence, hard work, true generosity of spirit and her unfailing sense of responsibility in all that she does, make Monica Martinez an executive to watch over the next 5 to 17 years.
